Lauren Sadler
Senior Partner, Accredited Family Mediator, Senior Solicitor
Lauren has been advising clients in relation to family law since 1999 and qualified as a solicitor in 2001. She realised early in her career that she wanted to specialise in family law and now draws on her broad experience of family matters to offer her services as a Law Society Accredited Family Mediator as well. Lauren has extensive experience of handling divorce, separation, domestic violence and abuse and financial remedy matters as well as dealing with the arrangements for children, including public law, child abduction and special guardianship cases.

Catherine Ashton

Catherine has specialised is Family Law since qualifying as a solicitor in 2004. She advises in relation to many areas of Family Law including divorce proceedings and dissolution of civil partnerships; financial matters; issues concerning children; financial disputes when unmarried partners separate; and both pre and post relationship agreements/settlements. Catherine previously trained and practised as a family mediator. Whilst she no longer undertakes mediation, she very much adopts the ideals of mediation in her practice. Connie Hall
Solicitor
Connie qualified as a solicitor in December 2022 and now assists clients with a range of Family Law matters. Connie’s attention to detail is second to none. She is approachable and pragmatic when advising clients and will always work hard to achieve the best outcome for them.
By way of background, Connie started working as a legal secretary in 2017 at a firm specialising in Residential Conveyancing and Wills & Probate and brings with her a depth of knowledge in these areas that often assists clients with their financial matters on separation. Alongside work, in 2018, Connie achieved a first-class law degree and, in January 2021, she was awarded a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course with integrated Masters at BPP University.
After completing a placement with Sadler Cross Family Law in 2022 as part of her Training Contract, Connie chose to specialise in Family Law and formally joined the firm in January 2023.

Parmjeet has specialised in Family Law since qualifying as a solicitor in 2001. Imogen Surguy
Apprentice Solicitor
Imogen joined us in April of 2022 after completing a gap year following her studies at the Colchester County High School for Girls. She studied French, Economics and Psychology at A-Level and completed an extended project qualification (EPQ) focusing on climate change and the legislation passed in the UK surrounding this. Imogen is currently studying on a degree apprenticeship course with the University of Law and is on track to qualify as a solicitor in 2028. The apprenticeship course is a new way of qualifying for solicitors, meaning that Imogen studies for just one day per week and works with us at Sadler Cross for the rest, gaining invaluable skills to fast-track her career.

Rhiannon Smith
Apprentice Solicitor
Rhiannon graduated from the University of Essex with first class honours in July 2022 and joined Sadler Cross in July 2023, having taken a gap year. During her time at university, she spent two years volunteering in the Essex Law Clinic where she was able to assist on a variety of matters which is when Rhiannon developed her interest in family law. Rhiannon has been a fantastic addition to the team. She is highly self-motivated and positive, and is always thinking about how she can support other team members and clients by going the extra mile. She has gained a wealth of experience since joining the firm. She is currently enrolled on a Graduate Solicitor Apprentice course and is due to qualify as a solicitor in September 2026.

Rebecca Brice
Paralegal
After incredible A-Level results and obtaining a first-class undergraduate degree in Drama, Rebecca went on to study a Master of Law, of which she received a distinction in 2021. The following year, she enrolled on the Bar Vocational Studies Course to complete her vocational training as a barrister. Rebecca has undertaken a Mini Pupillage within a leading chambers and an Internships at a magic circle firm and is due to be called to the Bar in 2024. Rebecca joined the firm in 2023 after previously managing her own project providing specialist advice to clients of a disability charity. After completing her Bar Course later this year, Rebecca will begin her training to become a solicitor. Rebecca relishes the opportunity to provide the best possible service to our clients. She has provided in house training on equality and diversity and has expertise and interest in assisting neurodiverse clients.

Personal Assistant
Gemma joined Sadler Cross in 2024 to assist Lauren in the smooth running of the practice. She has been working in the legal sector for 36 years experiencing all departments, her preferred area being family law. Gemma is an incredibly personable and helpful member of the team, and has a talent for problem solving and organisation. Gemma met Lauren, Anna, and Catherine when they all worked at a previous firm.
